From 24 July, you will be allowed to visit shops yourself. You must wear a face covering when visiting shops, unless you have a health condition or disability that makes wearing one hard for you.
Other people who do not need to wear a face covering include children under five, people taking medication and people who are communicating with someone who lip reads.
You can also still sign up for priority access to supermarket delivery slots until 31 July by texting “1SHOP” or by phoning the national helpline. On receiving your “1SHOP” text, your details will be shared with the supermarkets that are able to deliver in your area.
If you are an existing online customer with any of the supermarkets, they will contact you directly. If you are not already an online customer, we will send you a text to let you know how to get priority access.
Priority access should make it easier for you to get a slot. Once you have signed up, most stores can offer a delivery slot within a week.
However, we cannot guarantee you will always get your preferred slot. To be able to get priority access to supermarket delivery slots, you must have signed up for this access by no later than 31 July.
If you have been supported by family, friends or neighbours during the pandemic, then you may also wish to continue this arrangement.
