Top Marks for Dundee City Council

All of Dundee City Council’s waste management sites have be rated excellent by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), the Neighbourhood Services Committee will hear on Monday (June 12).

The five sites are:  Baldovie Transfer Station, Baldovie Recycling Centre, Riverside Recycling Centre, Riverside Landfill and Composting, and Marchbanks Reclamation Centre.

SEPA made this assessment based on two conditions: Environmental Limit Conditions, relating to emission limits and odour, and Environmental Management Conditions.

Councillor Kevin Cordell Convener of Neighbourhood Services Committee said: “This is fantastic news, I’m pleased to see that the final assessment of environmental performance for 2016 has come back as excellent.”

“The team here work really hard to ensure conditions are met and I am delighted for them to see their hard work pay off.”
