Kingspark 'Excellent Support' for Pupils

Kingspark

Kingspark School has been re-accredited by the National Autistic Society following a specialist review which praises its “excellent support” for pupils.

Dundee City Council children and families service depute convener Councillor Roisin Smith is congratulating staff and pupils at the school

She said: “The re-accreditation shows that staff throughout the school have a consistent understanding of autism and have the skills and knowledge to make a positive difference to young people with autism.

“Everyone connected with Kingspark should be very proud of this achievement.

"Kingspark is a centre of excellence in this area and plays an important role in training staff all across the city to support children with autism.”

The report says that Kingspark provides excellent support for autistic pupils within the Enhanced Support Area.

Staff are said to have developed very strong and effective supportive relationships with all pupils and that there is “an atmosphere of mutual respect”.
