What They Do:
Volunteering can take place in a variety of settings such as Libraries and local community centres and primarily learner's homes. You will support an individual with a disability by building confidence and sharing ideas. You will support the person to learn by talking through challenges and sharing knowledge and skills. You may also offer practical support such as scribing, typing and escorting someone to a college or other learning environment. We do not require our volunteers to be 'experts' but rather facilitators who can support a learner to improve their knowledge or skills. Subject areas can include anything, such as basic ICT skills, literacy, languages, history, arts and crafts to name but a few.
