Walking is a great way to stay fit and healthy. Dundee’s Healthy Walks will help you get into shape, but they’re also an excellent way to get out and about in your local area, meet new people and it’s free!
The escorted walks take about 30 minutes to an hour and are designed so that people of all ages and abilities can take part. You don’t need to be super fit or have specialist equipment. All you need is some comfortable clothing and shoes and maybe a raincoat! It’s a good idea to take along a bottle of water as well. To take part in one of the escorted walks, contact the relevant person below or turn up to the meeting place.
Walks currently available
The Health Walks groups in Dundee are proving to be popular and the number of groups and areas covered continues to grow. There are now groups in Hilltown, Kirkton, Ardler, Douglas, Whitfield, Charleston and Baxter Park. The majority of these walks are led by staff and volunteers from the Dundee Healthy Living Initiative. A list of times, meeting places and contacts for the walks is available for download. It is recommended that you contact the walk organiser to makes sure that the meeting times and places have not changed.
The Countryside Ranger Service provides escorted walks throughout the year. Have a look at their events programme to see what’s on.
