Most people, either as individuals or through friends and relatives will have contact with social work services at some point in their lives. We work with people when they need it most.
Our staff are there to support people at times of significant need, and through the difficult periods of personal and family crisis. Because of this, social work services have to be wide-ranging. These services are now being delivered in partnership with other agencies and this involves working with colleagues in Education, Health, Police, Housing and the Voluntary Sector.
Major changes are taking place this year in the way in which social work and health services are being delivered across the country. Here in Dundee, social work services are now being provided alongside Education services through the Council's new integrated Children and Families Service. From 1 April 2016, social work services for adults will be delivered through the Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership, which brings together into one body all adult social work services and a range of Community Health services, for adults over the age of 16 years in Dundee.
Along with our partners we are committed to delivering quality services which meet the needs of Dundee citizens in the 21st century.
