  • Blinshall Street (Douglas Street to 50 metres south)

    closed until December 2024 for construction works.

  • Douglas Street (Blinshall Street to Brown Street)

    temporary traffic lights until June 2024 for construction works.

  • Brown Street (south of Douglas Street)

    closed until December 2024 for construction works.

  • Seafield Road, Dundee

    closed from its westmost end (in cul-de-sac) extending for a distance of no more than 20 metres in an easterly direction to facilitate a site access for a new housing development until November 2025.

  • Constitution Road (from its junction with Bell Street to North Marketgait)

    closed until September 2025 for redevelopment of multi‑storey car park and adjoining areas.

  • Earl Grey Place West (South Crichton Street west for 50m)

    closed until March 2025 for facilitating construction works.

  • Tay Road Bridge

    major roadworks commences on Monday 4 March for 6 months.  Southbound carriageway will be closed, and all traffic diverted onto the northbound carriageway in a contraflow traffic management system.  The walkway will remain open.  All loads above 2.6m will be restricted from using the crossing.  A 30mph speed limit will be in place.

  • Tulloch Crescent

    closed to pedestrians (road has no vehicular access) until 8 September for works associated with a new housing development.

  • Rose Lane

    closed to pedestrians (between Rosebank Road and Arthur Street) until 8 September for ongoing housing development works.

  • Scottish and Southern Energy Network Constable Street Cable Renewal Scheme

    rolling road closures from Monday 15 January for 20 weeks:

     

    • Park Avenue (Morgan Street to Albert Street) – closed for 2 weeks;

     

    • McGill Street – closed for one week; and

     

    • Albert Street (Victoria Street to Balmore Street) – closed northbound from Monday 20 May for 6 weeks.
  • Gourdie Place (Gourdie Crescent to church car park)

    closed from Monday 20 May for one week for installation of services to new housing development.

  • Mary Ann Lane

    closed at north end until Friday 19 July for redevelopment of car hire business.  Access/egress for residents of former DP&L Shipping building maintained from south end.

  • A930 Monifieth Road (at Panmure Street)

    road closures and temporary traffic lights from Monday 20 May for 3 weeks for junction improvement works:

     

    • Panmure Street (south of A930 Monifieth Road to railway underpass) - closed with controlled vehicular access;

Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.

Please note the information provided is current as of the Friday prior to the report date and is subject to change at any time.  Any updates after publication on Fridays are indicated in bold.
