  • Magdalen Yard Road (between Thomson Street and Windsor Street)

    closed to westbound traffic on Sunday 2 June for Westfest event.

  • Blinshall Street (Douglas Street to 50 metres south)

    closed until December 2024 for construction works.

  • Douglas Street (Blinshall Street to Brown Street)

    temporary traffic lights until June 2024 for construction works.

  • Brown Street (south of Douglas Street)

    closed until December 2024 for construction works.

  • Seafield Road, Dundee

    closed from its westmost end (in cul-de-sac) extending for a distance of no more than 20 metres in an easterly direction to facilitate a site access for a new housing development until November 2025.

  • Constitution Road (from its junction with Bell Street to North Marketgait)

    closed until September 2025 for redevelopment of multi‑storey car park and adjoining areas.

  • Earl Grey Place West (South Crichton Street west for 50m)

    closed until March 2025 for facilitating construction works.

  • Tay Road Bridge

    major roadworks commences on Monday 4 March for 6 months.  Southbound carriageway will be closed, and all traffic diverted onto the northbound carriageway in a contraflow traffic management system.  The walkway will remain open.  All loads above 2.6m will be restricted from using the crossing.  A 30mph speed limit will be in place.

  • Tulloch Crescent

    closed to pedestrians (road has no vehicular access) until 8 September for works associated with a new housing development.

  • Rose Lane

    closed to pedestrians (between Rosebank Road and Arthur Street) until 8 September for ongoing housing development works.

  • Scottish and Southern Energy Network Constable Street Cable Renewal Scheme

    rolling road closures from Monday 15 January for 20 weeks:

     

    • Park Avenue (Morgan Street to Albert Street) – closed for one week;

     

    • McGill Street – closed for one week; and

     

    • Albert Street (Victoria Street to Balmore Street) – closed northbound for 5 weeks.
  • Mary Ann Lane

    closed at north end until Friday 19 July for redevelopment of car hire business.  Access/egress for residents of former DP&L Shipping building maintained from south end.

  • A930 Monifieth Road (at Panmure Street)

    road closures and temporary traffic lights from Monday 3 June for one week for junction improvement works:

     

    • Panmure Street (south of A930 Monifieth Road to railway underpass) - closed with controlled vehicular access;

     

    • Panmure Street (north of A930 Monifieth Road for a distance of 20m) – closed; and

     

    • A930 Monifieth Road (at Panmure Street) – temporary traffic lights and.
  • Blackscroft (Peep O’Day Lane to Lower Princes Street)

    closed westbound until Tuesday 4 June for footway resurfacing.

  • Gourdie Brae (Between Myrekirk Road and Old Liff Road Junction)

    temporary traffic lights from Tuesday 4 June for 5 days.

  • Hill Street (Strathmartine Road to Hill Square)

    closed for one week for Scottish Water work.

    closed from Monday 3 June for 5 days for carriageway resurfacing.

    lane closure with diversion in place from Monday 3 June for 20 days for footway resurfacing.

    4 way temporary traffic lights from Monday 3 June for 2 days for road lining reinstatement.

    mobile works under Stop/Go from Happyhillock Road roundabout to Kingsway East from Wednesday 5 June for 3 days for road lining reinstatement.

  • A930 Dalhousie Road (Bridge Street to Guthrie Terrace)

    road closures and temporary traffic lights from Monday 3 June for 10 weeks for junction improvement works:

     

    • Bridge Street (at junction of A930 Dalhousie Road) - closed;

     

    • A930 Dalhousie Road (Bridge Street to Guthrie Terrace) – temporary traffic lights;

     

    • Collingwood Street and Collingwood Crescent – closed periodically between Monday 3 June and Friday 16 August;

     

    • A930 Dalhousie Road (Bridge Street to Guthrie Terrace) – closed Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 August; and

    temporary traffic lights on Thursday 27 June (9.00am - midnight) for Scottish Water work.

  • Riverside Avenue/Dykes of Gray Road (at Swallow roundabout)

    closed Monday to Friday overnight (7.30pm to 6.30am) from Monday 1 July for 11 months for junction improvement works.

    temporary traffic lights between Charleston Road and Brownhill Road from Monday 1 July to Friday 16 August for installation of services to new housing development.

 


Roads - General

Planned road closures and restrictions are necessary to allow for a variety of maintenance work including resurfacing and reconstruction as well as water, sewer, electricity, gas and telecom supply/renewal/maintenance works, etc.

It may be that the Dundee City Council is not responsible for these works.  However we have a duty to inform the public of any major situation which may arise – planned or otherwise – that may affect their ability to move about the city.  We have included here a listing of road closures and major lane closures or restrictions and the contact numbers for the main utility companies in case you have a query on any specific set of roadworks.
