Maintenance and Improvements
The council is investing significant resources to ensure all properties meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard by 2015, and planned maintenance outwith the standard.
£89.44m will be invested from 2011/12 to 2014/15 for capital projects and planned maintenance. A total of 6,490 tenants will benefit from heating, kitchen and bathroom upgrades or kitchen and bathrooms if gas heating has already been installed (where these do not meet the Standard).
Within this budget there is a commitment of £4.92m towards community care projects and disabled adaptations to allow tenants to remain in their homes for as long as possible.
In addition to the above, the council will be investing £7.25m from 2011/12 to 2014/15 to increase the supply of council housing by building new mainstream and fully wheelchair adapted housing.
