I ARTISTS' LUNCH EXHIBITION

 

The Director of Leisure and Arts submitted Report No 292-2003 informing the Committee of the above exhibition from 16th May to 22nd June 2003.

 

The Committee noted the report.

 

II KEITH BROCKIE: RURAL PORTRAITS EXHIBITION

 

The Director of Leisure and Arts submitted Report No 293-2003 informing the Committee of the above exhibition from 16th May to 15th June 2003.

 

The Committee noted the report.

 

III TENDERS RECEIVED

 

The City Architectural Services Officer submitted Report No 242-2003 giving details of offers received for the undernoted contracts:-

 

(a) WILDLIFE CENTRE - LEMUR SECURITY ENCLOSURE

 

The Committee accepted the lowest offer by JB Corrie & Co Ltd, Blairgowrie to carry out the above works for the sum of 21,468.60 to which required to be added an allowance of 3,620 for professional services making a total expenditure of 25,088.60.

 

The Committee also noted that JB Corrie & Co Ltd, had listed Delson Contracts Ltd, Forfar as the sub-contractor for earthworks.

 

(b) OLYMPIA LEISURE CENTRE - WATERSLIDE REFURBISHMENT PHASE 2

 

The Committee agreed to accept the specialist offer from Van Egdom B V, De Meern, Holland to carry out the above works for the sum of 27,205 (39,720 Euros) to which required to be added allowances of 21,425 for scaffolding by Dundee Contract Services and 1,459 for professional services making a total expenditure of 50,089.

 

IV INVESTORS IN PEOPLE

 

The Director of Leisure and Arts submitted Agenda Note AN173-2003 advising that the Leisure and Arts Department has been recognised as an Investor in People organisation after achieving the Standard on 27th March 2003.

 

The Committee noted the achievement.
