I APOLOGIES
Apologies were intimated from Graeme Petrie, Simon Goulding, Councillor Philip Scott, Jonathan Stewart, Councillor Georgia Cruickshank, Sarah Anderson, Lorna McCurrach, Garvie Jamieson and David Glass.
II ELECTION OF CHAIR
The Forum agreed to defer the above to the next meeting.
III MINUTE OF MEETING OF DUNDEE LICENSING FORUM OF 14TH AUGUST, 2017.
The minute of the above-mentioned meeting was submitted and approved.
IV MATTERS ARISING
There were no matters arising which were not covered elsewhere on the agenda.
V MEMBERSHIP
It was agreed that further efforts would be made to widen the membership of the forum.
VI DUNCAN SCHEME
It was reported that the above scheme was still running despite the recent departure of the scheme co-ordinator.
VII NATIONAL ALCOHOL UPDATES
The Forum was updated on recent activity, by Alcohol Focus Scotland which included:-
- Publishing of local updates.
- Next steps for the licensing system in Scotland;
- Aims and objectives
VIII OVERPROVISION POLICY UPDATES
It was reported that a report on the above would be presented to a meeting of the Licensing Board towards the end of this year.
IX INFORMATION SHARING
(i) SAFETY BUS
It was reported that the above had been well used in recent weeks with the following noted:-
- Staff of 12 including team leaders and volunteers.
- Funding not available for year round use
- The bus is an older vehicle and prone to mechanical breakdowns.
- Well used during recent Freshers Week.
- Provides welfare support and help with first aid.
- Service users were normally disorientated, drunk or required support in dealing with alcohol issues.
- Majority of clients were in the 19-24 age group
- Has regular clients
- Update attached to minute.
(ii) DUSA
The representative from DUSA circulated a fake 20 note that had been tendered recently at DUSA.
(iii) FAKE DRIVERS LICENCES
Members reported an increase in fake driving licences in circulation.
(iv) UNDERAGE SALES - OFFTRADE
Statistics for the above would be available from Police Scotland.
