I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

II SCOTTISH FIRE AND RESCUE QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE REPORT - 1ST APRIL TO 30TH JUNE, 2020

 

There was submitted Report No 190-2020 by Area Manager Pryde providing information for the Committee regarding the performance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service against the priorities, outcomes and performance indicators detailed within the Local Fire and Rescue Plan for Dundee 2017/2020, to facilitate local scrutiny.

 

The Committee agreed to note, scrutinise and question the content of the report.

 

III DUNDEE CITY POLICING AREA PERFORMANCE RESULTS - 1ST APRIL TO 30TH JUNE, 2020

 

There was submitted Report No 191-2020 by Chief Superintendent Todd providing information for the Committee regarding the performance of Police Scotland against performance indicators that would facilitate local scrutiny.

 

The Committee agreed to note and scrutinise the operational report.

 

The Committee further agreed that reports to the Community Safety and Public Protection Committee be augmented with a report on anti-social behaviour as reported to the Anti-Social Behaviour Teams and Neighbourhood Services, which would detail the instances of anti-social behaviour by ward and the number of orders served and any other sanctions.

 

IV COMPLETION OF PUBLIC SPACE CAMERA AND NETWORK UPGRADE

 

There was submitted Report No 186-2020 by the Executive Director of City Development updating the Committee on the proposed final phase to complete the upgrade of Dundees public space camera system, and seeks approval from Elected Members to purchase the final cameras and Wi-Fi connection equipment, along with video search software.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(a) approve expenditure of 123,599 which could be contained within the 2020/2021 capital budget for:-

 

(i) phase 3 Wi-Fi connections and existing Wi-Fi upgrades from the Rapier contract, phase 3 camera replacements from the Scottish Communications Group contract;

 

(ii) the purchase of Smart City video search software;

 

(iii) CDM (Construction Design Management) fees; and

 

(b) delegate the Executive Directors of City Development and Corporate Services to procure within the above capital allowance, the following item:-

 

(i) Smart City video search software, in collaboration with Perth and Kinross Council and Angus Council noted that Scottish Police Authority, Tayside Procurement Consortium (TPC) would provide procurement support to develop a procurement strategy for this video search software.
