The minute of meeting of this Committee of 26th April, 2021 was held as read.

I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

II GAELIC LANGUAGE PLAN

 

On a reference to Article IX of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 24th August, 2020, there was submitted Report No 119-2021 by the Chief Executive reporting back to Committee on Bord na Gaidhligs assessment of the Council's draft Gaelic Language Plan and recommending a revised plan to be submitted to the Bord for formal approval.

 

The Committee:-

 

(i) noted the changes being proposed as a result of Bord na Gaidhligs assessment of the Council's draft Gaelic Language Plan as outlined in paragraph 4.3 of the report; and

 

(ii) agreed that the revised plan, appended to the report, should be submitted for formal approval by the Bord.

 

III FUNDING FOR COVID-19 SUPPORTS FOR 2021/2022

 

On a reference to Article XIII of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 24th August, 2020, there was submitted Report No 155-2021 by the Chief Executive, providing the Committee with an update on funding changes allowing carry forward to 2021/2022, additional allocations from Scottish Government announcements, and setting out proposals to best utilise these for continuing key supports from 2020/2021 and to effectively respond to other emerging needs of people in Dundee affected by COVID-19 during 2021/2022.

 

The Committee:-

 

(i) noted funding updates and allocations to Support Individuals at Financial Risk from COVID-19 and Flexible Funding to Effectively Respond to the Emerging Needs of People in Dundee affected by COVID-19;

 

(ii) agreed the proposed priority areas of identified need and proposed allocations for both funds as set out in the tables in paragraph 5 of the report; and

 

(iii) noted the update on other funding streams available in addition to above to avoid duplication and assure that any gaps were addressed.

 

IV COVID-19 RECOVERY PLAN PROGRESS AND UPDATE

 

On a reference to Article XIV of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 24th August, 2020, there was submitted Report No 157-2021 by the Chief Executive updating the Committee on the COVID-19 Recovery Plan agreed for Dundee City Council Services in August 2020, revisions due to the second lockdown and setting out initial plans for the release phases in line with the latest Scottish Governments Strategic Framework.

 

The Committee:-

 

(i) endorsed the Recovery Plan across Dundee City Council Service areas;

 

(ii) noted that Recovery Plan actions would become part of the Service Plan reports being prepared for each committee to scrutinise progress;

 

(iii) noted that the Dundee City Health and Social Care Integration Joint Board approved a Revised COVID-19 Recovery Plan (Report No DIJB18-2021) at its meeting on 21st April, 2021; and

 

(iv) noted that Leisure & Culture Dundee were developing their own detailed recovery plan.
