III 2023 REVIEW OF PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCIES

There was submitted Report No 322-2021 by the Head of Democratic and Legal Services advising the Council of the Boundary Commission for Scotlands Initial Proposals for the Westminster Parliament Constituencies in Scotland.

The Council resolved:-

Dundee City Council does not support the constraint placed upon the Boundary Commission for Scotland which results in Scotland's parliamentary representation at Westminster falling from 59 to 57 seats.

However, despite this, Dundee City Council notes and welcomes that the proposal of the Boundary Commission for Scotland will see the City of Dundee continuing to have two Parliamentary representatives.

Lord Provost Ian BORTHWICK, Convener.
