I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

Councillor Flynn declared an interest in respect of Article II(a) by virtue of knowing the deputation.

 

II PLANNING APPLICATIONS

 

(a) 22-00524-FULM - ERECTION OF MIXED-USE OFFICE DEVELOPMENT AT WATERFRONT SITE 6 - WATERFRONT SITE 6, RIVERSIDE, ESPLANADE, DUNDEE - FOR ROBERTSON CONSTRUCTION TAYSIDE

 

The Committee acceded to a request for a deputation to address the Committee relative to objections to the above application which was recommended for approval. After the deputation had stated their case and answered questions from members of the Committee, they were thanked for their attendance and withdrew.

 

Thereafter, having considered objections received, the Convener, seconded by Councillor Flynn, moved approval of the application subject to the conditions recommended by the Head of Planning and Economic Development.

 

As an amendment, Councillor McHugh, seconded by Bailie Scott, moved refusal of the application on the grounds that it was contrary to contrary to Policy 2 of TayPlan 2016-2036 and Policy 1 of Dundee Local Development Plan 2019.

 

On a division, there voted for the motion - the Convener, Lord Provost Campbell, Depute Lord Provost Cordell, Bailies Sawers, Keenan, and Macpherson and Councillors Alexander, Anderson, Flynn, Rome, Smith, Tolland, Scullin, Coleman, Crichton and Duncan (16); and for the amendment - Bailies Wright and Scott and Councillors El-Nakla, Lynn, Cruickshank, Finnegan and McHugh (7) - whereupon the motion was carried and the application granted.

 

(b) 22-00600-FULL - SECTION 42 APPLICATION TO EXTEND THE TIME PERIOD FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF PLANNING PERMISSION 20-00729-FULM FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PURPOSE-BUILT STUDENT ACCOMMODATION BY 18 MONTHS - 63 BROWN STREET, DUNDEE - FOR GYLEMUIR (BROWN) LTD

 

The Committee approved the application, subject to the conditions recommended by the Head of Planning and Economic Development.

 

(c) 22-00713-FULL - SECTION 42 APPLICATION TO EXTEND THE TIME PERIOD FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF PLANNING PERMISSION 20-00679-FULM FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PURPOSE-BUILT STUDENT ACCOMMODATION BY 18 MONTHS - FORMER GARAGE, WEST MARKETGAIT, DUNDEE - FOR MARKETGAIT DUNDEE LTD

 

The Committee approved the application, subject to the conditions recommended by the Head of Planning and Economic Development.
