Building Standards Team is the verifier for the local area, their function is to administer the building regulations to ensure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of persons in or about buildings.
The team is also involved in a variety of public safety issues including dealing with dangerous buildings, licensed premises, houses in multiple occupation and safety of stages and other similar structures.
Building warrants are necessary for:

Steps to Obtain a Building Warrant:
- Prepare Plans: Work with an architect or professional to create detailed plans.
- Download Building Standards Forms
- Submit an Application: Apply via the Scottish Building Standards portal
- Inspections: Arrange site inspections during construction.
- Completion Certificate: Obtain a certificate upon successful completion of work.
