Employers Health and Safety Responsibilities

The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 covers all business and as such requires that employers so far as is reasonably practicable:

  • Maintain safe premises and equipment. Ensure that ways of working are safe.
  • Provide suitable protective clothing free of charge.
  • Provide adequate health and safety training.

These duties extend to employees, contractors, volunteers, members of the public who may be affected by the work activity.
