The undernoted minutes, copies of which are appended hereto, were submitted and approved.

 

(a) Minute of Personnel Appeals Sub-Committee of 16th April, 2001 (Appendix I)

(b) Minute of Personnel Appeals Sub-Committee of 23rd April, 2001 (Appendix II)

(c) Minute of Personnel Appeals Sub-Committee of 30th April, 2001 (Appendix III).

 

II NEIGHBOURHOOD RESOURCES AND DEVELOPMENT - ESTABLISHMENT OF FIXED TERM POSTS

 

The Neighbourhood Resources and Development Committee, at its meeting on 8th January, 2001 approved Report No. 24-2001 on the Social Inclusion Partnerships - Allocation of Resources 2001/2002. As a consequence, it was now remitted to the Personnel and Management Services Committee to consider the following:-

 

(a)The establishment of three posts of Community Capacity Worker, Graded AP3/4 (6,993-8,820 for 16 hours per week) for a two year fixed term period.

 

(b)The extension of one post of Project Manager, graded PO1-4 (4,432-4,819 for 7 hours per week) for a two year fixed term period.

 

(c)The extension of one post of Clerical Assistant, graded GS2 (3,271-3,351) for 10 hours per week) for a two year fixed term period.

 

The total cost of these posts in a full financial year would be 33,208 inclusive of employers' costs. The Initiative would be funded by Social Inclusion Partnerships (SIPS) and would focus on providing a variety of training and skill development opportunities for local people and staff of local projects as well as developing wide ranging resource and information packages.

 

The Committee approved these proposals.

 

III SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT, CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICE - ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW POSTS

 

There was submitted Joint Report No. 319-2001 by the Director of Social Work and Director of Personnel and Management Services seeking approval to expand the range of services available to the Courts that will contribute to the increased effectiveness of existing services.

 

The Committee approved the establishment of the following posts:-

 

One post of Senior Social Worker, graded SCP35-38 (23,430-25,476).

Two posts of Social Worker, graded SCP27-35 (18,378-23,430)

Two posts of Criminal Justice Assistant, graded AP2, SCP19-22 (14,484-15,717)

One post of Community Service Supervisor, graded AP2, SCP19-22 (14,484-15,717)

One post of Clerical Assistant, graded GS1/2, SCP3-12 (9,180-12,399)

 

This report was also approved by the Social Work Committee on 21st May, 2001.
