Cases Sub-committee - 14/06/2001

At a MEETING of the REGISTRATION AND CASES SUB-COMMITTEE of the SOCIAL WORK COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 14th June 2001.

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public and press be excluded from the meeting in order that the undernoted item of business be considered in private on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 5 and 6 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

 

I PROPOSAL TO FUND A HOME CARE SUPPORT PACKAGE

 

There was submitted Report No 390-2001 by the Director of Social Work setting out alternative proposals for the education and care of a young person with special educational needs and outlining the funding implications for the Council.

 

The Sub-Committee approved Option A and noted and agreed to commission a home care support package from Aberlour Child Care Trust.

 

The Sub-Committee further agreed to authorise expenditure on this new service in 2001/2002 and in the next financial year.

 

II SOCIAL WORK CASE - UPDATE

 

There was submitted Report No 387-2001 advising the Sub-Committee of the current circumstances with regard to that case.

 

The Sub-Committee noted and approved the contents of the report.

 

III PROPOSAL TO FUND A DAY ACTIVITY PROGRAMME

 

There was submitted Report No 392-2001 by the Director of Social Work seeking approval to commission and purchase a Day Activity Programme by means of a Community Enabler Service for a young person with learning and physical disabilities.

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to:-

 

(i)note and approve the content of the report;

 

(ii)authorise the Director of Social Work to commission a Community Enabler Service from SENSE Scotland, a voluntary sector organisation who can make available this provision; and

 

(iii)agree to fund the individual service package for the young person amounting to a maximum of fifteen care hours per week.
