I "BRANGWYN'S GIFT" EXHIBITION
The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 635-2000 informing the Committee about the above exhibition of Paintings, Prints and Drawings by Frank Brangwyn (1867-1956).
The Committee noted the report.
II DUNDEE CULTURAL QUARTER
On a reference to Article VIII of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 17th April, 2000 the Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 616-2000 requesting the Committee to consider the findings of the Dundee Cultural Quarter study.
The Committee:-
(a)Endorsed the further development of the Cultural Quarter in Dundee as outlined in the report.
(b)Remitted to the Director of Arts and Heritage to work with the Dundee Partnership Cultural Quarter Steering Group to develop detailed implementation proposals and,
(c)Remitted to the Director of Arts and Heritage with the Dundee Partnership Cultural Quarter Steering Group to bring forward early proposals for branding the Quarter including a suitable name.
III DUNDEE SCIENCE CENTRE REVENUE GRANT 2000/2001
On a reference to Article IX of the minute of meeting of the Policy and Resources Committee of 14th December, 1998 the Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 563-2000 requesting revenue funding for Dundee Science Centre.
The Committee approved the level of assistance as set out in the report.
IV GRANTS TO NATIONAL ORGANISATIONS AND OTHER OUTSIDE BODIES
The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 636-2000 seeking approval to award a grant to the Dundee Orchestral Society.
The Committee authorised the payment of 300 to the Society.
V McINTOSH PATRICK REMEMBERED
The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 637-2000 informing the Committee about the above exhibition.
The Committee approved the report.
