At a MEETING of the SOCIAL WORK COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 19th November 2001.

I REGISTRATION AND CASES SUB-COMMITTEE OF 25TH OCTOBER 2001

The minute of the above meeting, a copy of which is appended hereto, was submitted for information and record purposes.

II CRIMINAL JUSTICE SOCIAL WORK STRATEGIC PLAN 2002- 2005

There was submitted Report No 751-2001 by the Director of Social Work which made the reference to the contents of the Criminal Justice Social Work Strategic Plan for the period 2002 to 2005 which provided a framework for the development of a partnership between Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross Councils.

The Committee approved the contents of the plan and instructed the Director of Social Work to submit the plan to the Scottish Executive.

III REGISTRATION AND INSPECTION ANNUAL REPORT

There was submitted Report No 752-2001 by the Director of Social Work which made reference to the contents of the Registration and Inspection Annual Report for the period 1st April 2000 to 31st March 2001.

The Committee noted and approved the contents of the Annual Report and instructed the Director of Social Work to submit the report to the Scottish Executive and make it available to the public.

IV SUCCESSFUL BID FOR FUNDING UNDER THE CHANGING CHILDREN'S SERVICES FUND (NEW RESOURCES TO TACKLE DRUG MISUSE BY (OR AFFECTING) CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

There was submitted Report No. 750-2001 by the Director of Social Work informing the Committee of the successful bid for additional resources and of the plans developed by the Social Work Department and partner agencies under the auspices of Dundee Drug and Alcohol Action Team.

The Committee agreed that:-

(a) the successful bid to the Changing Children's Services Fund be noted;

(b) the outline plan for the use of these resources be approved; and

(c)the Director of Social Work negotiate agreements and outcomes for payments as detailed in the Report.

V SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT - RESTRUCTURE OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICE

There was submitted Joint Report No. 391-2001 by the Directors of Social Work and Personnel and Management Services on the establishment of an Occupational Therapy Service structure which would integrate with other areas of Community Care service and would facilitate the development of joint working with the health service.

The Committee noted and approved the contents of the Report.
