It was reported that the Civic Prize for Quantity Surveying had been awarded to Nigel Whitton, Broughty Ferry, Dundee.

III COSLA Executive Groups - Membership

It was reported that, following a reorganisation within COSLA of its various Executive Groups, all Councils were invited to formally nominate the appropriate Conveners to act as spokespersons for the Council on the undernoted Executive Groups and that attendance at these meetings be considered an approved duty:-

IV Scottish Accident Prevention Council - Water and Leisure Safety Committee

It was reported that Councillor Farquhar had intimated his resignation from the above Committee.

Councillor Grant, seconded by Councillor Shimi, moved that Councillor de Gernier be appointed.

Councillor Sawers, seconded by Councillor Dave Beattie, moved that Councillor FitzPatrick be appointed.

On a division, there voted for Councillor de Gernier - Lord Provost Letford, Councillors de Gernier, Ward, Shimi, Presswood, Regan, Farquhar, Sturrock, Glen, Grant, Rolfe, Powrie, Mackie, Wallace, Scott, Macpherson and Borthwick (17); and for Councillor FitzPatrick - Councillors Barrie, Richard Beattie, Dawson, Sawers, FitzPatrick, Guild, Corrigan, Dave Beattie and Bowes (9) - whereupon Councillor de Gernier was appointed.
