Early Admission And Records Review Sub-committee - 29/06/2000

At a MEETING of the EARLY ADMISSIONS SUB-COMMITTEE of the EDUCATION COMMITTEE held at Dundee on Thursday, 29th June, 2000.

I POSSIBLE EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS

 

The Sub-Committee resolved, under Section 50(A) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, that the public and press be excluded during consideration of the undernoted item on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of information which is exempt in terms of Paragraph 5 of Schedule 7A to the Act.

 

II EDUCATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 1980 - EARLY ADMISSION

 

There was submitted correspondence from parents requesting that their daughter (d.o.b. 4.3.96) be admitted to primary school at the start of session 2000/01.

 

The Sub-Committee interviewed the parents and heard the representative of the Education Department.

 

Thereafter, following consideration of all the circumstances, the Sub-Committee resolved to uphold the appeal and remitted to the Director of Education to make arrangements for the child to commence at Blackness Primary School at the start of session 2000/01.
