At a MEETING of the DUNDEE CITY LICENSING BOARD held at Dundee on 18th July 2002.

The minute of meeting of the Licensing Board of 20th June 2002 was held as read.

I NOMINATION OF CHAIR

In the absence of Councillor Regan it was agreed that Councillor Grant be appointed as Chair for the duration of the business on the agenda.

II LICENSING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1976

Section 32 Hearing - ChrisJohn Inns Limited - Castaways, 98/100 Nethergate

Reference was made to Article III(a) of the minute of meeting of the Licensing Board of 20th June 2002 wherein it was agreed that a Section 32 Hearing be held in respect of Castaways.

The Board, having heard from an officer of the Environmental and Consumer Protection Department, an agent on behalf of the licence holder and the licence holder on his own behalf, agreed that a closure order not be promoted, subject to the continued monitoring of the premises by the Environmental and Consumer Protection Department and the conditions that the premises not be used for food provision and the undertaking by the licence holder that remaining works identified by officers from the Environmental and Consumer Protection Department be completed within a twenty one day period following on from the date of the hearing.
