The minute of meeting of this Committee of 9th September, 2002 was held as read.

I DLO/DSO FINANCIAL OPERATING STATEMENTS FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30TH SEPTEMBER, 2002

 

There was submitted Report No 779-2002 by the Chief Executive and Director of Finance appraising the Committee on the financial position of the City Council's Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) and Direct Service Organisations (DSO) for the six months ended 30th September, 2002.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the current financial position of each of the respective DLO and DSOs; and

 

(ii)instruct the appropriate Chief Officers within each DLO and DSO to take the necessary actions to ensure that their DLO/DSO's budgeted surplus is achieved in the financial year 2002/2003.

 

II DIRECT LABOUR ORGANISATION OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30THSEPTEMBER, 2002

 

There was submitted Report No 770-2002 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of the operational performance of the City Council's Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) for the six months ended 30th September, 2002.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the operational performance of the DLO for the period stated; and

 

(ii)where necessary, instruct the relevant Chief Officers within the City Council to take the appropriate steps to ensure the DLO achieves its performance targets.

 

III SUB-CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLY OF MATERIALS

 

There was submitted Report No 769-2002 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services listing details of sub-contractors and suppliers of materials to Dundee Contract Services for the value of 10,000 and over.

 

The Committee noted the contents of the report.

IV DUNDEE LAW ? ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS

 

There was submitted Report No 784-2002 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services requesting approval of proposals to carry out environmental improvements on the Law and to landscape the derelict site at the junction of Kinpurnie Place and Law Crescent.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) approve the proposals as detailed in the report;

 

(ii)the proposed works being carried out by Dundee Contract Services Contracting Section at an estimated cost of 45,000; and

 

(iii)future maintenance costs being met from the Dundee Contract Services Grounds Maintenance Client's Revenue Estimates.
