The Board, having noted a letter of observation from the Chief Constable, agreed to grant the application.

 

Before the next item was dealt with the Chairman stated that it was the Board's intention to return to the position as at October 2001 ie hotel bars would not be subject to the same policy as public houses. This will allow a wider public consultation exercise to take place on opening hours.

On a division, there voted for the motion, the Chairman, Lord Provost and Councillors Wright, Ward, Sawers and Dawson (6); and for the amendment Councillors FitzPatrick, Beattie, Mackie and Powrie (4), whereupon the motion was declared carried, granting the application to 12 midnight only.
