The minute of meeting of this Committee of 13th February, 2003 was held as read.

 

Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.

 

The Convener agreed that the undernoted items be considered as a matter of urgency in terms of Standing Order No 51(3)(b) in view of the timescales involved.

 

I CITIES REVIEW - PREPARATION OF CITY VISION AND SUBMISSION TO CITIES GROWTH FUND

 

There was submitted Report No 193-2003 by the Director of Planning and Transportation intimating that following the completion of the Cities Review, the Scottish Executive had invited each of the Cities to prepare "City-Visions" and to submit these to the Executive by the end of May, 2003.

 

In addition, the Scottish Executive had also invited the Cities to submit proposals for funding from the Cities Growth Fund within the same timescale; Dundee's allocation of this fund being 9.3m over the next three financial years.

 

The Committee -

 

(1) agreed the proposed methodology for preparing Dundee's "City-Vision";

 

(2) noted the possible projects for funding from the Cities Growth Fund; and

 

(3) remitted to the Director of Planning and Transportation to report to this Committee on 21st April, 2003 with recommendations on the contents of Dundee's final submission to the Scottish Executive.

 

II NUCLEAR FREE LOCAL AUTHORITIES STEERING COMMITTEE

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN119-2003 intimating that the next meeting of the Nuclear Free Local Authorities Steering Committee would be held in Cork on 21st March, 2003 and that Councillor Regan required to attend as Chair of the Committee.

 

The Committee authorised the payment of travel and subsistence costs.
