I TENDERS RECEIVED - CITY ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES OFFICER

 

There was submitted Report No 276-2003 by the City Architectural Services Officer detailing tenders received and requesting a decision thereon.

 

(i) ST MARY'S PRIMARY SCHOOL - REPAIRS AND EXTERNAL REPAINTING OF WINDOWS PHASE 2

 

The Committee agreed to accept the schedule of rates offer from Dundee Contract Services for Phase 2 repairs and external repainting of windows at St Mary's Primary School for 8,600.00 together with allowances of 1,290.00, giving a total of 9,890.00.

 

(ii) BLACKNESS PRIMARY SCHOOL - WINDOW REPLACEMENT 2003/2004

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer which was received from Muirfield (Contracts) Ltd, Dundee for window replacement at Blackness Primary School during 2003/2004 for 32,299.82 together with allowances of 5,173.00, giving a total of 37,472.82.

 

The Committee noted that Muirfield (Contracts) Ltd, Dundee had listed the undernoted sub-contractors:-

T S Sealants Ltd, Kirkcaldy - Sealant Work

 

(iii) MILL O'MAINS PRIMARY SCHOOL - RENEWAL OF GYMNASIUM FLOORING

 

The Committee agreed to accept the schedule of rates offer from Dundee Contract Services for the renewal of gymnasium flooring at Mill O'Mains Primary School for 9,800.00 together with allowances of 1,470.00, giving a total of 11,270.00.

 

II SUPPORTING CHILDREN WITH ADDITIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS WITHIN OUT OF SCHOOL CARE PROVISION

 

There was submitted Report No 306-2003 by the Director of Education seeking approval to award funding to continue the initiative set up to enable children with additional support needs and their parents/carers to access Out of School Care provision within a number of Out of School Care Clubs in Dundee.

 

The Committee agreed to continue to develop the existing project to support the access of children with additional support needs to all Out of School Care Clubs in Dundee and to continue the partnership between Dundee City Council Early Years and Childcare Team, Dundee Out of School Care Network and The Inclusion Group to facilitate the operational management of the project.
