I SUPERANNUATION INVESTMENT SUB-COMMITTEE
The minutes of meetings of the Superannuation Investment Sub-Committees of 5th and 25th March 2003 copies of which are appended hereto, appendix I and II were submitted for information and record purposes.
II RELIEF OF RATES - CHARITY RELIEF
There was submitted Report No 267-2003 by the Director of Finance seeking authorisation to grant charity relief on the undernoted non-domestic properties.

III ROYAL BRITISH LEGION SCOTLAND - DUNDEE FESTIVAL OF REMEMBRANCE
There was submitted Agenda Note AN198-2003 intimating that a request had been received from the Royal British Legion Scotland to meet the cost of hiring the Caird Hall Complex on 1st November 2003 for the Dundee Festival of Remembrance at an estimated cost of 760 together with ancillary costs.
The Committee approved accordingly.
IV DUNDEE CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU - FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
There was submitted Report No 284-2003 by the Director of Finance seeking to renew financial support to Dundee Citizens Advice Bureau.
The Committee approved a grant of 101,000.
V REVENUES DIVISION - HOUSING AND COUNCIL TAX VERIFICATION FRAMEWORK - TRAINING
On a reference to Article V of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 10th February 2003 there was submitted Agenda Note AN199-2003 recommending that CAPITA be appointed to deliver the specialist training required for the new staff being taken on for the introduction of the Verification Framework at a cost of 64,000.
The Committee approved accordingly.
VI PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING
On a reference to Article IV of the minute of meeting of this Commitee of 9th September 2002 there was submitted Report No 305-2003 by the Director of Finance advising the Committee on the performance of the Finance Department as detailed in the Accounts Commission Overview Report 2001/02 which was published on 24th February 2003.
The Committee noted the excellent progress made by the Department in implementing continuous improvement as detailed in the report by the Accounts Commission and commended the staff of the Finance Department for the hard work put in over the past year to create an operating culture of continuous improvement.
VII HOSPITAL FUND AND JOHNSTON BEQUEST
There was submitted Report No 283-2003 by the Director of Finance advising the Committee of the additional income likely to be available in 2003/04 from the above Funds for distribution to pensioners in financial need.
The Committee approved the issue of one application form per Elected Member in order that they may identify and approve constituents within their Ward for receipt of a pension from the above Funds.
The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.
VIII PROVISION OF BANKING SERVICES - TENDERS
After considering Report No 296-2003 by the Director of Finance detailing offers from the above, the the Committee accepted the most advantageous offer.
