The minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th March 2004 was held as read.

I DUNDEE LAW - APPLICATION FOR USE

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN155-2004 informing the Committee that the Director of Dundee Contract Services, in consultation with the Convener and Group Spokespersons, due to timescales involved had approved an application for use of Dundee Law by the White Cockade on Saturday, 10th April 2004.

 

The Committee noted accordingly.

 

II GROUND MAINTENANCE - REVIEW OF SERVICES

 

There was submitted Report No 307-2004 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services outlining the existing arrangements for the delivery of ground maintenance to Council Departments and proposals to review the service.

 

The Committee agreed that:-

 

(i)the current City of Dundee District Council's Schedule of Rates Contract for Ground Maintenance and Other Works be terminated and replaced with a new Dundee City Council Schedule of Rates for Horticulture, Arboriculture and Other Related Activities;

 

(ii)the current Tayside Regional Council 's Ground Maintenance Contract be terminated and all future ground maintenance works be carried out under the new Dundee City Council's Schedule of Rates;

 

(iii)the new Schedule of Rates be reviewed on 1st April each year;

 

(iv)waste management expenditure be recovered on a cost plus basis against certain one off jobs and cyclical maintenance work which generate large amounts of waste for disposal; and

 

(v)the new arrangements implemented at the start of financial year 2005/06 form the basis of a proposed Service Level Agreement with all Council Departments.
