I RESPONSE TO NATIONAL CONSULTATION ON SMOKING IN PUBLIC PLACES

 

There was submitted Report No 608-2004 by the Assistant Chief Executive (Community Planning) outlining the Council's proposed response to the Scottish Executive regarding the national consultation on Smoking in Public Places and highlighting the role of the Council in supporting the national consultation within the community.

 

The Committee approved the consultation response to the Scottish Executive regarding Smoking in Public Places as set out in Appendix 2 of the report and noted the actions taken by the Council in supporting the national consultation.

 

II APPLICATION FOR BETTER NEIGHBOURHOOD SERVICES FUNDING

 

There was submitted Report No 619-2004 by the Assistant Chief Executive (Community Planning) and the Head of Communities seeking approval for funding proposals in respect of landscaped areas along the western side of Strathmartine Road between Hill Street and Harcourt Street.

 

The Committee approved the funding proposals set out in the report.

 

III CONSULTATION ON DRAFT GUIDANCE ON THE ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR ETC (SCOTLAND) ACT 2004, PARTS 1 TO 6

 

There was submitted Report No 614-2004 by the Head of Communities and Assistant Chief Executive (Community Planning) relative to comments/issues arising from the Scottish Executive's Draft Guidance on the Anti-Social Behaviour Etc (Scotland) Act 2004, Parts 1 to 6.

 

The Committee approved the report as the Council's submission to the Scottish Executive on the Draft Guidance to the legislation outlined in paragraphs 1.1 and 6.1 of the report and agreed that the final Scottish Executive published guidance be used as a basis for the development and public consultation of an Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy for the Council by 31st March 2005.
