I DUNDEE CONTRACT SERVICES FINANCIAL OPERATING STATEMENT AND OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE FORTHE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30TH SEPTEMBER 2004
There was submitted Report No 784-2004 by the Depute Chief Executive (Finance) and Director of Dundee Contract Services appraising the Committee on the financial position and operational performance of Dundee Contract Services for the six months ended 30th September 2004.
The Committee noted the current financial position and operational performance of Dundee Contract Services.
II SUPPLY OF NEW VEHICLES 2004/2005
There was submitted Report No 687-2004 by the Director of Dundee Contract Services informing the Committee of fixed prices submitted by vehicle suppliers for new vehicles required by Dundee Contract Services for the financial year 2004/2005.
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest or most advantageous offer as assessed under "Best Value" criteria for each category of new vehicle required.

III FORMER CHILDREN'S PLAY AREAS - GRASSING OF TARMAC SURFACING
There was submitted Agenda Note AN413-2004 informing the Committee that a number of small children's play areas throughout the city were closed between 1999 and 2001 as part of the Council's programme on the rationalisation of playgrounds.
A number of small sites, approximately 21, in various housing schemes required the tarmac/slabbed surfaces to be removed, topsoiled and grassed with some kerbing.
The work, estimated to cost 17,000, would be met from the provision of 50,000 allowed for the landscaping of playgrounds under Quality of Life Funding in 2004/2005.
The Committee agreed that Dundee Contract Services carry out the work on the smaller sites at an estimated cost of 17,000.
IV MARLEE ROAD OPEN SPACE - LANDSCAPING
There was submitted Agenda Note AN414-2004 informing the Committee that a prominent open space of 1.97 acres (0.8 hectares) between Marlee Road and Torridon Road was in need of improvement and required to be relandscaped.
The work, estimated to cost 26,860, would be met from the provision of 100,000 allowed for public open spaces under the Quality of Life funding in 2004/2005.
The Committee agreed that the works be carried out by Dundee Contract Services at an estimated cost of 26,860.
V DOUGLAS TERRACE, BROUGHTY FERRY - LANDSCAPING OF OPEN SPACE
There was submitted Agenda Note AN415-2004 informing the Committee that a small public open space at the junction of Douglas Terrace and Dundee Road West was in need of relandscaping.
The work, estimated to cost 6,600, would be met from the provision of 50,000 allowed for public open spaces under the Department's Capital Estimates for 2004/2005.
The Committee agreed that the works be carried out by Dundee Contract Services at an estimated cost of 6,600.
