PART I - OPEN MEETING

I REFURBISHMENT OF A JAVELIN FIRE VEHICLE FOR DUNDEE AIRPORT

There was submitted Report No 12-2006 by the Director of Economic Development seeking approval for the appointment of a contractor to upgrade an airport fire vehicle.

The Committee agreed that a contract should be awarded to Fire Vehicle Services Ltd, of Quedgeley, Gloucester, by negotiation up to a maximum value of 70,000, for commencement in Financial Year 2005-2006 and completion in Financial Year 2006-2007. 10,000 would be vired within the 2005-2006 Airport Capital Programme for the commencement of work in the current financial year.

II NEW AIRPORT CATERING VEHICLE

There was submitted Agenda Note AN11-2006, whereby it was reported that the Airport Capital Programme for 2005-2006 included the replacement of the Flight Catering Vehicle and it was now in use. This vehicle consumes considerable electric power for lifting and heating systems that were installed to improve Health and Safety for the catering staff. To improve the endurance of these systems it was recommended by the manufacturer (Keillor Coachbuilders) that the vehicle should be fitted with a special hi-drain battery pack that could be constantly recharged from a mains power connection when the vehicle was parked between periods of duty. The cost of 4,200 could be met from uncommitted minor works resources within the Airport Capital Programme and the Committee was requested to approve these works.

The Committee agreed to approve the expenditure as detailed.

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A of the Act.
