I DUNDEE AIRPORT

 

(a) SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - AUDIT

 

The Director of Economic Development submitted Report No 590-2006 advising the Committee of the operation of the second year of the safety management system and the progress on full implementation to airport operations.

 

The Committee noted the report and the intention that subsequent audits and overall progress would be the subject of annual reports.

 

(b) REPLACEMENT OF AIRPORT EQUIPMENT

 

The Director of Economic Development submitted Report No 574-2006 seeking approval for the letting of a contract for the replacement of X-Ray and Metal Detector equipment at Dundee Airport.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the offer by Rapiscan Systems UK, Surrey, for the supply and installation of X-Ray and Metal Detector Equipment at a cost of 32,697.50 together with an allowance of 1,000 for accommodation works.

 

(c) REMEDIAL WORK AT AIRPORT TERMINAL

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN331-2006 advising that it was proposed to carry out a number of small work projects in relation to disability access, anti-corrosion treatment and the replacement of life expired fixtures and fittings etc.

 

The Committee authorised the Director of Economic Development to carry out these works by a number of separate contracts let by competitive tender where possible up to a cost limit of 25,000.

 

II TENDERS RECEIVED

 

This item was withdrawn.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A of the Act.

V SALE OF FORMER DUNTRUNE DEMONSTRATION GARDEN, DUNTRUNE TERRACE, WEST FERRY

 

On a reference to Article XII of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 17th November 2003, and Article IV of the minute of meeting of the Planning and Transportation Committee of 26th April 2004, the Director of Economic Development submitted Report No 587-2006 seeking approval for the sale of the former Duntrune Demonstration Garden, Duntrune Terrace, West Ferry.

 

The Committee approved the proposed sale of the former Duntrune Demonstration Garden on the terms and conditions detailed.
