II SECURITY INDUSTRY AUTHORITY - INTERIM ARRANGEMENTS

It was reported that as from November 2007, all door stewards would require to hold a licence issued by the SIA and at that time the City Council Registration Scheme would cease.

It was agreed that in the period until then, the following arrangements would be put in place:-

1 The registration period for all stewards currently registered would be extended until the end of December 2007.

2 New applications would be accepted until the end of January 2007. The usual police enquiries would be carried out and those with no objections from the police would be granted a provisional registration until the end of December 2007. As the registration would only be for one year, the fee would be reduced to 20.

3 From February 2007, no further applications for the Local Registration Scheme would be accepted as from then the SIA would be accepting applications for the national scheme.
