Licensing Sub-committee - 28/09/2006

At a MEETING of the LICENSING SUB-COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 28th September, 2006.

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds this involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

I CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982

 

(a) TAXI OPERATOR LICENCE AND TAXI DRIVER LICENCE

 

There was submitted a letter of information from the Chief Constable relative to the alleged conduct of Company X.

 

Thereafter, having given consideration to the content of the letter and having heard the representative of the Chief Constable and after consideration of the advice of the Legal Officer the Sub-Committee agreed that a Suspension Hearing be convened in relation to the Taxi Operator's licence held by Company X.

 

(b) TAXI DRIVER'S LICENCE

 

(i) There was submitted a letter of information relative to the alleged conduct of Mr R D during the currency of his Taxi Driver's Licence.

 

Thereafter, having given consideration to the content of letter and having heard the representative of the Chief Constable and after consideration of the advice of the Legal Officer the Sub-Committee agreed that a suspension hearing be convened in relation to the Taxi Licence held by Mr R D.

 

(ii) There was submitted a letter of information from the Chief Constable relative to the conduct of Miss T C during the currency of her Taxi Driver's Licence.

 

Thereafter, having given consideration to the content of the letter and having heard a representative of the Chief Constable and after consideration of the advice of the Legal Officer the Sub-Committee agreed that the Taxi Licence held by Miss T C be suspended with immediate effect and that a suspension hearing be convened in due course.
