I PURCHASE OF VEHICLES

 

There was submitted Report No 219-2006 by the Head of Waste Management seeking authorisation for the purchase of eight vehicles as part of the 2006 rolling replacement programme.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the price of the undernoted which would be procured via the Authorities Buying Consortium pricing framework:-

 

3 (three) 26t domestic refuse collection vehicles (Dennis Eagle)

-

320,000

1 (one) - 18t trade refuse collection vehicle (Dennis Eagle)

-

110,000

1 (one) - 32t hookloading vehicle (Scania)

-

86,000

3 (three) - 3.5t dropside tippers (Arnold Clark)

-

54,000

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

 

II CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982 - SECTION 90 - DEFECTIVE STAIR LIGHTING

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN114-2006 detailing notices which had been served on the owners of properties requiring works to be carried out.

 

The Committee noted that the Head of Environmental Health and Trading Standards would carry out the works should the owners not comply within the timescales.
