Licensing Sub-committee - 29/03/2007

At a MEETING of the LICENSING SUB-COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 29th March, 2007.

Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.

 

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 3, 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

I CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982

 

(a) TAXI OPERATOR'S AND TAXI DRIVER'S LICENCES - REQUEST FOR HEARING

 

There was submitted a letter of complaint from the Chief Constable relative to the conduct of Mr M I during the currency of his Taxi Driver's and Taxi Operator's Licences.

 

The Sub-Committee, after hearing the Chief Constable's representative, consideration of the content of the letter and the advice of the Legal Officer, agreed that no further action be taken.

 

(b) TAXI DRIVER'S LICENCE - REQUEST FOR HEARING

 

(i) There was submitted a letter of complaint from the Chief Constable relative to the conduct of Mr R L during the currency of his Taxi Driver's Licence.

 

The Sub-Committee, after hearing the Chief Constable's representative and consideration of the content of the letter and the advice of the Legal Officer, agreed that a suspension hearing be convened at a future meeting of the Licensing Committee in relation to the fitness of Mr R L.

 

(ii) There was submitted a letter of complaint from the Head of Environmental Health and Trading Standards relative to the alleged conduct of Mr W K.

 

The Sub-Committee, after hearing the Legal Officer and consideration of the content of the letter, agreed that a hearing be convened at a future meeting of the Licensing Committee in relation to the fitness of Mr W K to hold a licence.

 

(c) SECOND HAND DEALER'S LICENCE - REQUEST FOR HEARING

 

There was submitted a letter of complaint from the Chief Constable relative to the conduct of Mr M A during the currency of his Second Hand Dealer's Licence.

 

The Sub-Committee, after hearing the Chief Constable's representative, consideration of the content of the letter and the advice of the Legal Officer, agreed that a suspension hearing be convened at a future meeting of the Licensing Committee in relation to the fitness of Mr M A to hold a licence.
