The minute of meeting of this Committee of 11th June, 2007 was held as read.

I FACADE ENHANCEMENT GRANT SCHEME - ALBERT STREET, STOBSWELL

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN164-2007 advising that it was proposed to make some minor adjustments to the above-mentioned scheme in order to make it easier for marginal businesses to participate, to encourage change to non-retailing uses for vacant units, and to increase the budget utilising receipts through the Stobswell Regeneration Strategy, for a period of two years to try to make a greater impact.

 

The Committee approved accordingly.

 

II TRAFFIC ORDERS

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN183-2007 advising of the undernoted Traffic Orders:-

 

(a) DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (SCHOOL KEEP CLEAR AREAS) ORDER 2007

 

Reference was made to Article XV of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 11th December, 2006 wherein the Committee authorised the preparation of an Order to improve safety at school entrances and to take into account the rebuilding and relocation of schools as part of the PPP Project.

 

It was reported that the proposed Order was duly drafted and during the statutory consultation period no adverse comments were received. Thereafter, the Order was duly advertised and there were no objections.

 

The Committee therefore agreed to make the Order as advertised.

(b) DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (MEADOWSIDE AT ALBERT SQUARE, DUNDEE) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2007

 

Reference was made to Article VI of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th January, 2007, wherein the Committee authorised the preparation of the above Order.

 

It was reported that the proposed Order was duly drafted and during the statutory consultation period no adverse comments were received. Thereafter, the Order was duly advertised and there were no objections.

 

The Committee therefore agreed to make the Order as advertised.

 

(c) DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (BROUGHTY FERRY OFF-STREET CAR PARKS) (VARIATION) ORDER 2007

 

Reference was made to Article V of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th January, 2007 wherein the Committee authorised the preparation of an Order to allow more flexibility for residents in Broughty Ferry by allowing the season ticket to be used in any of the Broughty Ferry Car Parks.

 

It was reported that the proposed Order was duly drafted and during the statutory consultation period no adverse comments were received. Thereafter the Order was duly advertised and there were no objections.

 

The Committee therefore agreed to make the Order as advertised.

 

(d) DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (DUNDEE AREA CYCLE ROUTES) ORDER 2007

 

Reference was made to Article VII of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 11th December, 2006 wherein the Committee authorised the preparation of an Order to increase accessibility and improve safety for cyclists throughout Dundee.

 

It was reported that the Order was duly prepared and advertised in the Dundee Courier and Advertiser and The Edinburgh Gazette, and the relevant statutory undertakers were consulted. No objections were received.

 

The Committee therefore agreed to authorise and confirm the Order, and authorised formal publication of the confirmation, after which the Order would become operative.
