The minute of meeting of the Leisure, Arts and Communities Committee of 11th June, 2007 was held as read.

I INTERNATIONAL YOUTH WORK FUND 1 (2007-2008)

 

There was submitted Report No 354-2007 by the Director of Leisure and Communities detailing an award from the Department's International Youth Work Fund to enable the participation of young people from Dundee and China in a first leg exchange programme based in Dalian, China.

 

The Committee agreed to approve the undernoted grant.

To assist with the costs of an outward leg of a group of 10 male and 8 female participants from Dundee who are visiting the Dalian International Festival to participate in joint media workshops.

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

II PROVISION OF NEW CEMETERY SITE - DUNDEE EAST

 

Councillor Bob Duncan declared a non-financial interest in this item by virtue of his employment.

 

There was submitted Report No 369-2007 by the Director of Leisure and Communities and Director of Economic Development detailing the proposed criteria for a cemetery in the east of the city.

 

The Committee approved the recommendations contained within the report.
