I MINUTE OF MEETING OF CASES SUB-COMMITTEE OF 1ST FEBRUARY, 2008

The minute of meeting of the Cases Sub-Committee held on 1st February, 2008 was submitted and noted for information and record purposes, a copy of which is attached to this minute as an Appendix.

II INDEPENDENT LIVING AND DIRECT PAYMENTS

There was submitted Joint Report No 629-2007 by the Director of Social Work and Assistant Chief Executive (Management), advising of the local and national position with regards to the work of Independent Living Fund and Direct Payments.

The Committee agreed:-

(i) to the promotion and development of Direct Payments and Independent Living Fund; and

(ii) to note that the Director of Social Work would progress the establishment changes outlined in the report in consultation with the Chief Executive.

III ASSOCIATION OF DIRECTORS OF SOCIAL WORK (ADSW) ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION 2008

It was reported that the Annual Conference of the Association of Directors of Social Work would take place at Crieff Hydro Hotel from Wednesday, 14th May - Friday, 16th May, 2008.

This conference would mark the beginning of the Director of Social Work's year as President of ADSW.

The cost of attendance would be approximately 585 plus VAT per delegate excluding travel and subsistence allowances.

The Committee agreed that Elected Member attendance at the conference be on the basis of one member of the Administration, one member of the SNP Group and one member of the Conservative Group.
