The minute of meeting of this Committee of 12th May, 2008 was held as read.

 

Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

I COMMERCIAL LEASES

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 303-2008 by the Director of Economic Development detailing commercial leases in respect of the undernoted premises:-

II RENT REVIEWS

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 304-2008 by the Director of Economic Development detailing rent reviews in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

5 - 7 Teviotdale Avenue

2 Marshall Street

135 Pitkerro Road

54 High Street, Lochee

18 St Giles Terrace

8 - 10 Brownhill Road

 

III SALE OF 0.09 HA SITE, COUPAR ANGUS ROAD

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN107-2008 reporting that the residential development site of 0.09 ha at Coupar Angus Road had recently been marketed for sale and detailing the offers received.

 

The Committee noted that, after consultation with the Convener and spokespersons of the other Groups, the Director of Economic Development had accepted the most financially advantageous offer.

 

IV ACQUISITION OF 15 HOUSES AT PLOTS 1 - 15 BRIDGEND STREET

 

Reference was made to Article IV of the minute of meeting of the Housing, Dundee Contract Services and Environment Services Committee of 10th December, 2007, wherein approval was granted to increase the supply of accessible Council houses through the purchase of suitable houses on the open market.

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN108-2008 advising that 15 new properties in Bridgend Street had been identified as suitable and negotiations entered into through the District Valuer.

 

The Committee approved the purchase of the properties, for inclusion into the accessible housing stock, on the terms and conditions detailed in the note.

 

V LEASE - DUDHOPE CASTLE - UNIVERSITY OF ABERTAY

 

Reference was made to Article VII of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 13th March, 2000, wherein approval was given to lease Dudhope Castle to the University of Abertay for a period of 20 years.

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN109-2008 advising that the tenants had requested an amendment to the terms of the lease.

 

The Committee agreed to the amendment on the terms and conditions detailed in the note.
