I QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE REPORTING - YEAR TO 31ST MARCH, 2008

 

There was submitted Report No 323-2008 by the Head of Finance advising the Sub-Committee of the performance of Dundee City Council for the year to 31st March, 2008 as defined by the Statutory Performance Indicators.

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to note that performance levels in the first half of the new financial year had generally been maintained or improved.

 

The Sub-Committee further agreed that all Chief Officers review the content of Appendix I to the report as it related to their service and consider if there are any indicators for which performance could be improved.

 

II BEST VALUE REVIEW PROGRAMME

 

There was submitted Report No 239-2008 by the Assistant Chief Executive (Community Planning) advising the Sub-Committee of progress with the programme of Best Value Reviews agreed for 2007/2008, proposing a process for identifying the programme of reviews for 2008/2009 and providing information on a wide range of additional officer-led review activity underway across the Council.

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note progress on 2007/2008 Best Value Review programme as outlined in paragraph 4.2 of the report;

 

(ii) agree that a programme of proposed Best Value Reviews for 2008/2009 should be brought forward following the efficiency diagnostic study which is currently underway;

 

(iii) contact the Chief Executive if they wish to propose a topic for a Best Value Review; and

 

(iv) note progress on the officer-led reviews contained in the Council Plan and departmental Service Plans as set out in paragraph 4.4 and Appendix 1 to the report.

 

III QUARTERLY MONITORING REPORT ON PROGRESS WITH STRATEGIC PLANS

 

There was submitted Report No 326-2008 by the Assistant Chief Executive (Community Planning) advising the Sub-Committee on progress to date with the objectives, projects and reviews contained in the Council Plan 2007/2011.

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the content of the report, including the attached tables which detailed the progress made on the Council Plan 2007/2011; and

 

(ii) agree that, as part of the commitment to Public Performance Reporting, the information on progress be added to the copy of the Council Plan which appeared on the Council website, and copies of this report be made available to partner organisations and local groups on request.
