There was submitted Report No 355-2008 by the City Architectural Services Officer giving details of offers received for the undernoted contracts:-

 

(a) ARDLER COMPLEX - UPGRADE EXISTING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer being that from A M Securities, Perth amounting to 31,379.50, together with allowances of 3,620.50 for contingencies and 2,153 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 37,153.

 

(b) DUNDEE FLOWER SHOW AND FOOD FESTIVAL 2008 - ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to accept a negotiated contract with Northern Light, Edinburgh amounting to 13,877, together with allowances of 4,200 for contingencies, 1,500 for testing existing cable infrastructure and 1,000 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 20,577.

 

(c) BRAEVIEW ACADEMY - WINDOW REPLACEMENT - PHASE 4

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to accept a negotiated contract with Dundee Contract Services amounting to 29,175.20 together with allowances of 4,541 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 33,716.20.

 

(d) OUR LADY'S PRIMARY SCHOOL - FIRE ALARM INSTALLATION

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to accept a negotiated contract with Dundee Contract Services amounting to 21,500, together with an allowance of 3,064 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 24,564.

 

(e) LAW CRESCENT - HEATING REPLACEMENT, KITCHENS AND BATHROOMS

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to accept a partnering contract with Dundee Contract Services amounting to 832,700, together with the undernoted allowances:-

The Sub-Committee agreed to accept a negotiated contract with CMS Heating and Plumbing Ltd, Arbroath amounting to 47,541.82, together with allowances of 5,000 for contingencies (flue design), 540 for CDM Co-ordinator and 7,616 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 60,697.82.

 

II TENDER FOR REPOINTING OF A SECTION OF CAMPERDOWN BOUNDARY WALL

 

After considering Report No 356-2008 by the Director of Leisure and Communities relative to the above, the Sub-Committee agreed to accept the tender submitted by RDS Muir, Strathmartine, Dundee amounting to 22 per square metre.

V TENDERS RECEIVED - CITY SQUARE COMPLEX - BOILER UPGRADING

 

After considering Report No 369-2008 by the City Architectural Services Officer relative to the above, the Sub-Committee agreed to accept a negotiated contract with Scan Building Services Ltd, Dundee, amounting to 20,000.

 

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

VI DUNDEE ENERGY RECYCLING LIMITED (DERL) - BALDOVIE WASTE TO ENERGY PLANT

 

There was submitted Report No 360-2008 by the Chief Executive relative to the above.

 

The Sub-Committee approved the recommendations detailed therein.

 

VII WEST MARKETGAIT

 

There was submitted Report No 139-2008 by the Director of Economic Development relative to the above.

 

The Sub-Committee approved the recommendations detailed therein.

 

VIII RENT REVIEWS

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 365-2008 by the Director of Economic Development detailing rent reviews in respect of the undernoted properties:-

There was submitted Report No 366-2008 by the Director of Economic Development regarding the lease of ground at the above location.

 

The Sub-Committee approved the recommendation detailed therein.

 

X SURPLUS PROPERTIES - SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT

 

After considering Agenda Note AN135-2008, the Sub-Committee declared properties detailed therein surplus to the requirements of the Council and remitted to the Director of Economic Development to arrange for their disposal.

 

In addition, other recommendations detailed in the note were approved and it was noted that further reports would be submitted to the Economic Development Committee in due course.
