I MEMBERSHIP OF FORUM

 

(a) TAYSIDE FIRE AND RESCUE

 

The Forum formally appointed Jimmy Monaghan, Fire Safety Officer, Tayside Fire and Rescue.

 

(b) LICENSING STANDARDS OFFICERS

 

The Forum formally appointed Graeme Petrie and Simon Goulding, Licensing Standards Officers.

 

II MINUTE OF MEETING OF 18TH MARCH, 2008

 

The minute of the above meeting was submitted and approved.

 

III LICENSING OBJECTIVES - PROTECTING AND IMPROVING PUBLIC HEALTH AND PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM HARM

 

The Forum heard Carole Robertson, Health Improvement Officer and Steven Dalton, Dundee Drug and Alcohol Action Team relative to the above.

 

The Forum noted various advice and support programmes and agreed that it be remitted to the Secretary to arrange for a representative from the Focus on Alcohol Angus Project to give a presentation at the next meeting of the Forum.

 

In addition, there was submitted and noted an extract from a report by NHS Tayside relative to health inequalities in Tayside.

 

IV DVD PRESENTATION BY 5 DIGITS/DUNDEE ACCESS GROUP

 

The Team viewed a DVD entitled Access and Attitudes which had been produced by the 5 Digits/Dundee Access Group with a view to improving the life of disabled people and raising awareness of the difficulties encountered by them.

 

Arising therefrom, as far as licensed premises were concerned, it was remitted to the Licensing Standards Officers to give consideration to the issues raised and to report back to a future meeting.

 

In addition, copies of the DVD were distributed to members of the Forum for use at staff meetings and training events etc.

 

V ALCOHOL - MULTI-PACKS - RESALE

 

The Forum heard Gerry Morrison relative to alcoholic multi-pack drinks being bought in supermarkets and re-sold in licensed premises.

 

It was agreed that consideration be given to this matter at the next meeting of the Forum.

 

VI DATE OF NEXT MEETING

 

It was agreed that the next meeting of the Forum be held on Tuesday, 2nd September, 2008 at 3.00 pm.
