I DEMOLITION OF SURPLUS SCHOOL BUILDINGS

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN53-2009 reporting that as a result of the Schools PPP Programme the following schools had become or would shortly become surplus to Education use and had been remitted to the Director of Economic Development for disposal.

 

It was intended to demolish the undernoted school buildings.

 

The Committee authorised the City Engineer to obtain tenders for the demolition of these buildings and further authorised the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) and Director of Economic Development to accept the most favourable tender, as recommended by the City Engineer, to allow demolition works to commence as soon as possible in the interests of public safety. It was noted that tender details would be reported for information to a future meeting of this Committee.

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

II COMMERCIAL LEASES

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 108-2009 by the Director of Economic Development detailing commercial leases in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

141 Kingsway East

Camperdown Park Golf Club Shop, Camperdown Park

63 Hilltown

Barnhill Community Centre, Campfield Square

Telecommunications Base Station, Claverhouse Industrial Estate

 

III PROPOSED SALE OF LAND AT 27 CRAIGARD ROAD

 

There was submitted Report No 109-2009 by the Director of Economic Development seeking approval for the sale of land to the east of 27 Craigard Road.

 

The Committee approved the sale of land extending to 0.0053 hectares or thereby on the terms and conditions detailed.

 

IV BROOKSBANK CENTRE - 20-24 PITAIRLIE ROAD - LEASE OF PROPERTY

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN54-2009 relative to an application by an interested party to lease the above premises as offices for community based groups and services.

 

The Committee agreed to lease the Brooksbank Centre on the terms and conditions detailed.
