The minute of meeting of this Committee of 12th January, 2009 was held as read.

I DRIVING IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE SCOTTISH TRUNK ROAD NETWORK - CONSULTATIONRESPONSE

 

There was submitted Report No 83-2009 by the Director of Planning and Transportation advising the Committee of the above mentioned consultation paper and detailing Dundee City Council's proposed response to Transport Scotland.

 

The Committee approved the proposed response detailed in the Appendix to the report.

 

II DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (VARIATION OF WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2009

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN31-2009, making reference to Article XIV of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th September, 2008, wherein the Committee authorised the preparation of an Order introducing further measures to vary the provisions of numerous existing Waiting Restrictions Orders affecting Dundee.

 

It was reported that the proposed Order was duly drafted and during the statutory consultation period, one objection was received from Broughty Ferry Traders' Association.

 

The Committee authorised formal publication of the Order as drafted, despite the objection.

 

III DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (DUNHOLM ROAD - SOUTH ROAD FOOTPATH, DUNDEE) (STOPPING-UP) ORDER 2008

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN32-2009, making reference to Article V of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 27th October, 2008, wherein the Committee authorised the preparation of an Order to stop-up lengths of footpath situated at Dunholm Road - South Road, Dundee to facilitate a new housing development.

 

It was reported that the Order was duly prepared and advertised in the Evening Telegraph and Post and The Edinburgh Gazette, and the relevant statutory undertakers were consulted. No objections had been received.

 

The Committee therefore authorised and confirmed the Stopping-Up Order, and authorised formal publication of the confirmation, after which the Order would become operative.

 

IV DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (CRAIGMORE STREET - DUNMORE STREET FOOTPATH, DUNDEE) (STOPPING-UP) ORDER 2008

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN33-2009, making reference to Article V of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 27th October, 2008, wherein the Committee authorised the preparation of an Order to stop-up lengths of footpath situated at Craigmore Street - Dunmore Street, Dundee to facilitate a new housing development.

 

It was reported that the Order was duly prepared and advertised in the Evening Telegraph and Post and The Edinburgh Gazette, and the relevant statutory undertakers were consulted. No objections had been received.

 

The Committee therefore authorised and confirmed the Stopping-Up Order, and authorised formal publication of the confirmation, after which the Order would become operative.

 

V CONFIRMATION OF TREE PRESERVATION ORDERS

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN34-2009 relative to the undernoted Tree Preservation Orders:-

 

(a) 06/2008 - LAND EAST OF FOGGYLEY GARDENS, DUNDEE

 

(b) 07/2008 - LAND NORTH OF FOGGYLEY GARDENS, DUNDEE

 

The Committee noted that on 11th November, 2008, the Council had made a provisional Tree Preservation Order on the above mentioned sites in order to protect and preserve the arboreal amenity of the surrounding area.

 

(c) 08/2008 - LAND TO THE WEST OF SHEPHERD'S LOAN AND SOUTH OF PERTH ROAD, DUNDEE

 

The Committee noted that on 28th November, 2008, the Council had made a provisional Tree Preservation Order on the above mentioned site in order to protect and preserve the arboreal amenity of the surrounding area.

 

The Committee authorised the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) and the Director of Planning and Transportation to undertake the necessary procedures and confirm the above three Tree Preservation Orders.
