I LOCAL GOVERNMENT PENSION SCHEME - AUTHORITY DISCRETIONS
There was submitted Report No 170-2009 by the Head of Finance, outlining the discretions available to Dundee City Council following changes in Pension Scheme Regulations.
The Committee approved the recommendations shown in Appendix A of the report in respect of discretions to be applied for Dundee City Council as Administering Authority and an Employing Authority.
II BANKING SERVICES
Reference was made to Article XXIII of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 23rd June, 2009, wherein it was agreed that a contract be negotiated with Royal Bank of Scotland for one year, then a tender exercise be undertaken for a contract starting from 1st July, 2009.
There was submitted Agenda Note AN121-2009 intimating that because of exceptional extreme circumstances in the market, it was considered that it would not be prudent to tender for banking services at this time and therefore it was recommended that the current arrangement be extended for a further two years at no increase in cost.
The Committee approved accordingly, it being noted that estimated annual contracts would not exceed 65,000 per annum.
