I POLICY ON PROVISION FOR YOUNG CARERS

There was submitted Report No 491-2009 by the Director of Education seeking Committee approval for a policy on provision for young carers.

The Committee agreed to:-

(i) note the content of the report;

II PUPILS WHO RESIDE IN DUNDEE AND ATTEND ANGUS PRIMARY SCHOOLS

There was submitted Report No 150-2009 by the Director of Education reviewing procedures for the allocation of places in secondary schools relative to the above.

The Committee agreed to:-

(i) note the contents of the report;

(ii) note that those who reside in Dundee but attend Angus primary schools would have priority 2, 3 or 4 status, depending on their individual circumstances;

(iii) instruct the Director of Education to discuss the means of communicating the information to parents/carers; and

(iv) instruct the Director of Education to monitor the situation in all neighbouring authorities.
