I QUARRY GARDENS - DRAFT SITE PLANNING BRIEF

 

There was submitted Report No 500-2009 by the Director of City Development, seeking approval of a Draft Site Planning Brief for a potential brownfield housing development site at Napier Drive.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(a) approve the Draft Site Planning Brief for consultation purposes; and

 

(b) remit the Director of City Development to consult with the local communities and interested parties on the Draft Site Planning Brief and report back on the results of the consultation within six months.

 

II DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL (VARIATION OF WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2010

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN229-2009, making reference to Article VIII of the minute of meeting of the Planning and Transport Committee of 27th April, 2009, wherein the Committee authorised the preparation of an Order introducing further measures to vary the provisions of numerous existing Waiting Restrictions Orders affecting Dundee.

 

It was reported that the proposed Order was duly drafted and, during the statutory consultation period, no adverse comments were received.

 

The Committee therefore authorised publication of the Order.

 

III ST VINCENT STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, NETWORK RAIL - BASIC ASSET PROTECTION AGREEMENT

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN228-2009, advising the Committee that as part of the proposals to improve the drainage of St Vincent Street underpass, Broughty Ferry, the construction of some pipework and connecting gullies required to be undertaken below the railway bridge. To progress with the project, Network Rail required Dundee City Council to enter into a legal Basic Asset Protection Agreement for them to provide interface activities relating to the rail network, health and safety, industry standards, regulations and necessary approvals.

 

The Committee remitted the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) in consultation with the Director of Finance and City Engineer to agree terms and conditions with Network Rail and to sign an appropriate agreement on behalf of the Council.

 

IV TENDERS RECEIVED

 

There was submitted Report No 501-2009 by the City Engineer, detailing an offer from Dundee Contract Services in respect of landscaping of the former ABB Site, Kingsway.

 

The Committee approved acceptance of the offer in the sum of 55,566.11, to which required to be added allowances amounting to 9,433.89, giving a total of 65,000.
